Whatley Manor Hotel

A really relaxing day spent drawing in the gorgeous surroundings of Whatley Manor, a hotel and spa situated near Malmesbury.  The day was split into three sessions:

An Introduction to Sketching. Simple line drawings as a warm up, followed by instruction on proportions, tone and shading.

Perspective: Architecture and Interiors.  Understanding more about perspective and how to draw buildings. It was warm and dry enough to be outside in the stunning quadrangle.

Expressive Mark-making.  A fun and free flowing session capturing autumn foliage and vegetables using charcoal; a chance to relax and let off steam with inspiring music.

The chef at Whatley Manor provided a delicious buffet lunch and homemade biscuits and refreshments.  Many thanks to the hotel staff for all their support and to those that came along.
